Characterization of the Propagation of Meteorological Drought Using the Copula Model

Drought is a phenomenon that caused by several factors and can be divided into meteorological drought, agricultural hydrological socioeconomic drought. In this study, the characteristics of propagating from drought to (or hydrological) in Andong Dam basin Hapcheon located Nakdong River Korea were investigated. Standardized precipitation index (SPI), standardized soil moisture (SMI), runoff (SRI) used characterize meteorological, agricultural, droughts, respectively. SPI-m (1–12) on various timescales SMI-1 SRI-1) selected as propagation timeseries, such correlation analysis was performed evaluate time between Propagation probability quantified using copula-based model.
